Keeping active in December!
Tinathon 24
Carpe Diem
31 Days. 30 Minutes of exercise. #EveryDamnDayInDecember.
Who's in?
Why do we do this?
Tina was an amazing woman and friend to many. She was passionate about sport completing over 100 marathons but above all wanted to encourage other people to be active too.We sadly lost Tina to cancer in the summer of 2019 and the Tinathon challenge started in December 2019 and helped so many of us honour her legacy. Raising over £50k for charity in the process.
Are you still Buffless?
If you want to be on trend sporting the next big thing in fashion. (That is a lilac Tinathon buff) you can pick one up at www.runwalksport.co.uk Olivers Battery, Winchester. Please bring £5 cash for payment with you.

The challenge is simple: Participants must do at least 30 minutes of exercise, such as running, walking, a gym session, Park Run, swimming, home workout everyday in December (including Christmas Day)We have compiled a list so you can start your journey for Tinathon 2024. And as Tina would always say " It's not the time you do, it's the time you have."
To participate fully in the challenge please donate £31 (£1 for each day in December) either the Wessex Cancer Trust page, or Winchester Hospice (or half on each, your choice) with your name, so we know who has signed up. Under 16s are invited to participate for £15.50
Each day in December do your 30 minutes and, if it helps you stay accountable, record your activity on our Facebook page or alternatively on our Instagram page
You must exercise each and every day. Miss a day and you can pay a £5 fine on our Wessex Cancer Trust page or the Winchester Hospice one.
You can also donate if you like for any of the free classes put on by local PTs and gyms.
If you are used to exercising hard every day that is amazing and we absolutely love seeing your efforts on our socials across the month. But, we know some of you are at a much lower starting point. Tina's legacy was to encourage everyone, whatever their level, to just move a bit more and enjoy it. Yes, Tina completed marathons, but she wasn't a fast runner. She took her time, and she enjoyed them! So if you're nervous at the thought of the challenge ahead - don't be! Exercise at your level - there will be organised events throughout the month to suit you and the Tinathon community will back you all the way.So despite the rain, wind, snow or other hideous weather December can hurl at us, let’s get out there and get our hearts pumping. It will do us all good (it really will) and we will do Tina proud!
Your committee is here for you!
Christine, Elspeth, Heather and Anna are all here to support you through the month. As a committee we would like to say a big thank you to Miranda Rock Smith for being captain of team Tinathon for the last 5 years! Please contact us if you have any queries. (or would like to share a glass of Savi-b!)
The Tinathon Community
